Degree Program:
Please follow this link for information about the Genome Sciences Ph.D. program. We don't admit students to an M.S. program, nor is there an undergraduate Genome Sciences degree. However, we offer several undergraduate courses each quarter. These are generally taken by undergraduate Biology and Biochemistry majors.

Please follow this link to view the department course schedule.

Independent study courses (Genome 499, 501, 600, 700 & 800) are offered every quarter.

Genome Sciences Seminar (Genome 520), COMBI Seminar (Genome 521), Journal Club (Genome 522), Research Reports (Genome 523), and Medical Genetics Journal Club (Genome 525) are offered every Autumn, Winter, and Spring Quarter

Enrolling in undergraduate courses as a nonmatriculated student:
Students who are not regularly enrolled UW students but wish to take undergraduate courses have the option of enrolling as nonmatriculated students. Enrollment of this sort is done via UW Educational Outreach.

UW Educational Outreach will ask that you obtain instructor permission. You are welcome to check with the instructors before classes begin, but please be aware that it may be very difficult to enroll in high demand courses such as Genome 371. For these sorts of courses, you will be asked to first attend the first week of class to see if space becomes available. Regular UW students will have priority. Course instructors will sign your form if space opens up after the first week, in both the instructor and department lines.

Enrolling in graduate courses as a nonmatriculated student is outlined on the Graduate Program section of this site.
