Paydates are generally the 10th (for the second half of the preceding month) and 25th (for the first half of the month) of each month, unless these dates fall on a weekend or holiday. For example, paychecks for the period of September 16 - September 30 are distributed on October 10.

Regarding direct deposit:

You will need to set up direct deposit in two locations (yes, two). Your primary direct deposit, for payroll purposes, should be set up via Workday.  Questions may be directed to HR Manager Serena Newhall (serenn2 [ a t ] uw.edu). Please see Serena's Workday Instructions (Word | pdf) for more information.

You will also need to set up direct deposit via the UW Student Fiscal Services office. The reason for this is that non-payroll funds (for example, the bonus payments given to incoming students) are distributed via this system rather than via the payroll system.

Learn more than you ever wanted to know about payroll by visiting the Workday payroll website.

If needed, short term loans are available via the UW Student Financial Aid office.
