Student ID Card:

Stop by Odegaard Library (ground floor) to get your student ID card (aka the "Husky Card"). You will need to show legal photo identification in order to obtain your ID card. You need to wait until the next business day after you've registered to do this.

In addition to serving as your student ID card, your Husky Card will also serve as your bus / train pass. Please see the U-Pass website for more information. Your bus pass activation date depends on when you register, but you should be able to use it one week before classes begin (in 2024: you should be able to begin using your U-Pass on Wednesday, September 18).

Building Access Card:

Building access is provided via your Husky Card. After obtaining your Husky card, please email your student ID number to gsadmin [ a t ] uw.edu and mention that you are an incoming graduate student who will need interior building access (i.e. be able to use the stairs or elevator to get to the non-public floors of the Foege Building). Exterior building access comes automatically when you register for courses.

For issues with building access, please send an email to gsadmin [ a t ] uw.edu .
