Postdoctoral Scholars must complete their PhD prior to their appointment start date. The appointment length can be from one to five years and may not exceed a total of 60 months of postdoctoral experience. Because this is an academic title, it requires Dean’s Office approval prior to hire. If you would like to hire a postdoctoral scholar, please fill out and submit the below postdoctoral scholar request form to gsadmin [ a t ] uw.edu at least two months prior to the appointment start date. If a visa is needed, the processing time may be longer, depending on the visa type.

If you would like to grant early computer and email access to a postdoctoral scholar, please send an email to gsadmin [ a t ] uw.edu to let them know that you would like this. We can sponsor an account through UW-IT and provision services that will be retained upon hire.
