Required Trainings

Register for Welcome Day
(required for all new staff and faculty employees) – includes UW history and culture, diversity and inclusion, addressing discrimination and harassment, an employee perks and resource fair, how to sign up for benefits (medical, dental, retirement, etc.) Not required for student employees.

Please take all the required general employee trainings listed here.
If you are not a hiring manager, you may skip the “Additional Training for Hiring Managers” section. If you will be participating in selection committees later, please take these trainings before then.

Review the Respiratory Illness Flowchart – You are expected to stay home if you are contagious. Yes, really.

(optional training and development opportunities – if you are interested in attending a class, please obtain approval and a budget worktag from your supervisor.)

WA state employee tuition exemption program You may take one free academic course per quarter, with permission from your supervisor.
