Research:
My research focuses on identifying and characterizing sites of genomic structural variation (insertions, deletions, inversions, and other rearrangements). Currently, I am developing and apply methods end-sequence pairs from a fosmid library to identify sites of structural rearrangement in the library source individual relative to the human genome reference sequence. This approach allows us to systematically identify and sequence human genomic structural variation, permitting a more comprehensive understanding of multiple scales of genomic variation.
